“Going Rogue” has gone platinum.
HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis said Tuesday that just two weeks after publication, Sarah Palin’s memoir has sold 1 million copies. The print run for “Going Rogue” has been increased again, to 2.8 million copies. The original printing was 1.5 million, then moved up to 2.5 million.

Lawyers for Roman Polanski filed a motion in court Tuesday asking that the director be released from Swiss custody — the first step in his legal battle to avoid extradition to the United States for a 1977 statutory rape case.
The Swiss Federal Criminal Court announced the filing and said “the decision will be made within the next weeks.” That statement meant the 76-year-old filmmaker is not expected to be freed anytime soon from prison, as he would stay incarcerated through the verdict and through any appeal from either side.

A mystery celebrity will provide an introduction to the reissue of Michael Jackson’s memoir.
Harmony Books, an imprint of Random House Inc., will publish the new edition of “Moonwalk” in October with an announced first printing of 100,000. The original text, released in 1988 by Doubleday, sold about 500,000 copies.
