LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Just hours after Dr. Conrad Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, the pop star’s father, Joe Jackson, appeared on CNN’s “Larry King Live” and made shocking claims regarding his son’s death.
“I was looking for justice, and justice, to me, would be a murder charge,” Joe told Larry on Monday night, referring to Murray’s charge, which could carry a four-year prison sentence if he’s convicted.
The Jackson patriarch believes there were others allegedly involved in the death of his son – who died on June 25, 2009.
“To me, he’s just a fall guy,” Jackson said. “There’s other people, I think, involved with this whole thing. But I think that he’s interrogated – he would come clean and tell everything he knows.”
Joe claims that in the midst of Michael’s attempt at a comeback last summer, that the pop star feared for his life and allegedly believed he would be murdered.
“He was afraid to even do all of these shows, because he was afraid that he wouldn’t get a chance to finish all of the show,” Joe told Larry. “He couldn’t do all those shows back-to-back. Even his kids say that he had told them that he would be murdered.”
Following Monday’s hearing, Michael’s sister, La Toya Jackson, also expressed the idea that others were allegedly responsible for her brother’s death.
“Michael was murdered and although he died at the hands of Dr. Conrad Murray, I believe Dr. Murray was a part of a much larger plan,” La Toya said in a statement issued to Access Hollywood on Monday afternoon. “There are other individuals involved and I will not rest and I will continue to fight until all of the proper individuals are brought forth and justice is served.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Dr. Murray pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Monday in the death of Jackson, who died at the age of 50.
