Mindy McCready Welcomes Son

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Mindy McCready is spotted at the World Series of Poker at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on June 8, 2008Mindy McCready is the proud new mom of a baby boy.

Although the country singer initially announced she was pregnant with twins back in November, Mindy delivered one child, Zayne, on Monday.

“Zayne is truly a blessing and a joy,” Mindy and boyfriend David Wilson said in a statement, according to People. “It was a long and trying pregnancy; we’re so happy he’s here. There are no words to convey how happy we are.”

The singer’s rep explained the twins mix-up to E! News, saying, “At the time of the initial announcement surrounding Mindy’s pregnancy, in consideration of her size, Mindy was certain she was carrying twins; a misinterpreted sonogram seemed to support her feelings and excitement.”

Zayne is the second child for Mindy, who is also mother to 6-year-old son Zander with ex-boyfriend Billy McKnight.
