LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
On Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars,” Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff were down in votes, but they weren’t out of the competition.
During “Dancing’s” results show, host Tom Bergeron revealed that Rocco and Karina scored the lowest amount of votes following Monday’s competition portion of the show, but the celebrity chef and his professional partner were saved to dance again.
Tom and his co-host, Samantha Harris, said that because Misty May-Treanor withdrew from the program due to an injury, taking her professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy with her, no one needed to be eliminated on Tuesday night.
Though no one went home, Tom and Samantha confirmed that the votes cast this week for the various contestants will carry forward. The total number of votes received in this week’s competition plus the votes cast next Monday will be added together. The total number of votes from the two days will determine who will leave the ballroom on the October 14 episode of “DWTS.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Misty was forced to leave the competition this week after tearing her Achilles tendon last Friday.
The volleyball champ underwent surgery to repair the injury on Tuesday and is now home resting, her rep confirmed to Access Hollywood.
With months of recuperation ahead of her, she will not return to compete on the program, however Misty indicated on Monday night, she may be back to cheer her fellow celebrities on.
“I am out,” Misty said on Monday. “I’m not out of cheering on the competitors and keeping in touch with everybody, but I am now gonna be on the sidelines.”
