The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards has attracted some colorful performers! Both Pink and Green Day are scheduled to return to the stage to perform live during the awards show, which will air on September 13, 2009. This year’s VMAs will take place in several strewn locations throughout New York City, including Radio City Music Hall.
“Last year I got to jump out of a window at the VMAs in LA,” said Pink. “This year I can’t wait to blow the roof off Radio City in New York.”
Grammy Award-winning band Green Day will rock the VMA stage for the third time, with songs from their latest album “21st Century Breakdown.”
“We are excited to be performing at the Video Music Awards,” Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong said. “You never know what’s going to happen, and it’s always a memorable experience for us.”
The VMAs have a long tradition of brining the biggest names in music to the stage, and this year is no exception with already scheduled performances from country sensation Taylor Swift and English rock band, Muse.
Comedian Russell Brand will return this year to host the rockin’ awards, with already confirmed appearances by “Gossip Girl” heartthrob Chace Crawford, Katy Perry and Ne-Yo.
