LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Britney Spears’ comeback continues with an impressive reported seven Moon Man nominations for the upcoming 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

According to E! Online’s Marc Malkin, Britney could top last year’s VMA performance, where she walked away with three trophies for “Piece of Me.”

No word yet on which of Brit’s videos could be honored, but with “Womanizer,” “Circus,” “If U Seek Amy,” and “Radar” all released from her latest album, “Circus,” the pop star could be nominated for multiple videos.

In more VMA noms news, Eminem and Kanye West will battle it against each other in four different categories, MTV News reported.

Eminem’s “We Made You” video and Kanye’s “Love Lockdown” will duke it out for Video of the Year, Best Male Video and Best Hip Hop Video. And “We Made You” is up against Kanye’s “Paranoid” in the Best Special Effects category.

There is still no word if Britney, Kanye or Eminem could be making appearances at this year’s festivities at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Scheduled performers include Green Day, Pink, Taylor Swift and Muse. Comedian Russell Brand is returning to lead the show for the second straight year.

MTV is expected to announce more nominees and additional performers later today for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, airing on September 13, 2009.
