LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Mya stormed to the top of the leaderboard with two fancy footed performances on Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

The pop singer and her professional partner, Dmitry Chaplin, dominated the show, scoring 29 out of 30 for their first dance – a quickstep, and a perfect score for their second number — a ‘70s inspired samba.

“I believe that you want to win this competition,” Carrie Ann raved as the duo took home that perfect 30, the first perfect score of the season.

But while Mya and Dmitry stood high atop the pack, the rest of the celebrity contenders were separated by just points.

Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough managed to take second place, scoring a 29 for their quickstep and 23 points for their futuristic second round paso doble, which had Judge Bruno Tonioli proclaiming, “Derek, you’re a genius.”

Kelly Osbourne and her partner, Louis van Amstel took third with 51 points over all – 26 for their first dance, a foxtrot, and another 25 for their ‘60s flavored foxtrot.

Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff tied with Donny Osmond and his partner, Kym Johnson, with both teams taking 50 points for the night, leaving Tuesday’s elimination show without a clear favorite to go home.
