Celebrities love Discovery Channel’s “Naked and Afraid.” Drew Carey even said on Access Hollywood Live that he would love to be on the show that documents two people who are dropped in a harsh location without clothes or food and expected to survive.
But, don’t expect a celebrity edition any time soon.
“We’ve thought about it and we’ll see if it actually comes to fruition, but right now it’s just in talk,” Executive Producer David Garfinkle told reporters at Wednesday’s Television Critics Association Summer Tour session in Beverly Hills.
Another producer said the environments they drop two naked people into are tough.
“There’s a big difference between being a fan of the show and being a survivalist on the show,” EP Jay Renfroe added. “Twenty-one days is a very long time to survive out there and they have to have the skill set to be able to survive.”
“Naked and Afraid” airs Sundays at 10/9c on the Discovery Channel.
