The 5-year-old daughter of Grammy-winning Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was struck and killed Wednesday by a sport utility vehicle driven by her brother, authorities said.
The girl, Maria Sue, was hit in the driveway of the family’s home Wednesday afternoon by a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by her teenage brother, said Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Prosecutors trying to prove that a woman appeared in a sex tape with R. Kelly when she was underage — over her protestations that she didn’t — have turned to one of her childhoodfriends, the friend’s father and two relatives.
The R&B superstar is accused in the child pornography trial of videotaping himself having sex with a girl who may have been as young as 13. His attorneys have said Kelly is not on the tape and the alleged victim, now 23, denies she’s the person in the video.

After 97.5 million votes were cast, 23 million more than in any other season, rocker David Cook was crowned the “American Idol” on Wednesday night, besting teen opponent David Archuleta.
Cook, who wasn’t even planning to audition when he accompanied one of his brothers to the “Idol” tryouts, took home 56 percent of the votes cast, compared to just 44 percent for Archuleta.
