LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
News of a Twitter reality series is not sitting well with two of the micro-blogging Web site’s most famous users – Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.
“I hope this isn’t true,” Demi wrote in response to the planned Twitter series, announced over Memorial Day weekend. “If it is our Twitter time may come to a quick and sad end!”
Adding, “This would not be a smart move for Twitter!”
Demi’s husband, Ashton – the undisputed Twitter king – was equally disturbed by the idea of a TV series.
“Wow I hope this isn’t true,” he wrote on his Twitter account. “I really don’t like being sold out. May have to take a twitter hiatus.”
He noted that the planned show could create a safety concern for celebrities who Twitter.
“I don’t want to be stalked!!!” he continued. “It’s all fun and games until somebody gets stalked.”
As previously reported on Access Hollywood.com, Twitter announced on Monday it has teamed with Reveille productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners to develop an unscripted reality series based on the site. The show would allow Twitter users to compete and put them on the trail of celebs, through the use of the Web site.
And though it may seem like everyone in Hollywood is addicted to Twitter, some celebrities are steering clear of the Web site. According to USA Today, Kanye West, Zac Efron, Katie Couric, “Southland’s” Ben McKenize, Beyonce and Drew Barrymoore are some of Hollywood’s hottest who are still cold about telling the world their every move.
“I don’t have a Twitter, a MySpace or a Facebook or anything like that,” Zac recently told People. “I kind of value in people not knowing where I am or what I’m doing.”
He added that his Twitter updates wouldn’t be worth posting, saying, “I’m on the toilet. Still on the toilet. Guys, dot-dot-dot, out of TP. Still on the toilet.”
