LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Thanksgiving may be a time to head home to gather with family, but a number of stars spent the holiday elsewhere.

Jennifer Aniston, Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow and hot couple Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr were among the celebs in Marrakesh, Morocco for the reopening of the La Mamounia hotel on Thursday.

“It’s sad to be away from America on Thanksgiving,” Jennifer told People, though she added she didn’t miss out on a turkey dinner. “I actually had my meal last week with in LA with friends.”

And for Orlando, it was a chance to spend time with his busy girlfriend.

“Miranda and I spend so much time apart, she’s working hard, I’m working hard, so we have to grab time together whenever we can,” he told the mag. “A weekend here, a weekend there.”

Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage spent his Thanksgiving in Bath, England, where he joined a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, according to the BBC. However, it wasn’t far from home for the American star, who told the San Diego Union-Tribune earlier this week that he’s now living in England after selling off several stateside properties.

“My life is very simple at this point,” he told the newspaper. “I live in England. I spend time with my family. I try to see my boys as much as I can.”

And Jon Gosselin, who previously told Us Weekly that he’d be heading to his grandmother’s for the holiday, spent it snowboarding — at least according to Hailey Glassman.

“LOL-U are in Utah snowboarding w/‘friends’-lol-ur redic,” she Tweeted.
