LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have split, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“They have amicably split but remain good friends who still greatly care for one another,” Vanessa’s rep told Access.

A rep for Nick told Access that he and Vanessa “have amicably ended their relationship”.

Despite rumors of an impending break-up, earlier this month the actress, 28, told People, who first reported news of the couple’s split, that she and Nick, 35, were “very much still on.”

According to a mag source, they are “still friends. It was the right thing for both of them to do.”

Nick and Vanessa began dating in 2006.
