LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson might both be suddenly single – but don’t expect the former couple to reunite.
“I think it’s fun storytelling, but there’s very little truth to any of it,” Nick told People, referring to rumors of a reunion with his former spouse and “Newlyweds” co-star. “I certainly have heard about her breakup and I wish her the best, as I’ve always done. Aside from that, there really is nothing to say.”
In fact, Nick told the mag he hasn’t spoken to Jessica since her breakup with Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo.
“I haven’t talked to her in probably two years,” Nick said “I wish her happiness. That’s where it pretty much ends.”
And as for his own split with Vanessa Minnillo after dating for three years, the singer said he’s making the best of it.
“I’m in a good place,” he said. “I’ve learned, through years of not only being in this business, but being in relationships, that you have to take it as it goes. With every experience, you learn something about your life, and you try to take that and move on and be a better person because of it. We’ll see what happens.”
