LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

"High School Musical," you have been put on notice! Nickelodeon has unveiled plans for a music-themed comedic telefilm set in a high school, titled, "Spectacular!" Reuters reports. But will audiences embrace a Zac Efron-less high school musical?

"Spectacular!" dives into the world of high school choirs, where a preppy girl meets a brash rocker guy while belting out tunes, and ultimately, finding love in the pews.

Nick's high school musical romp is not a musical where the characters break out into song, but rather a performance-based spectacle, according to Reuters (get the difference?!).

Nick is initially planning on one film, but is open to the option of "Spectacular!" sequels.

The cast will include including Tammin Sursok, Nolan Funk, Victoria Justice of Nick's "Zoey 101,"and Simon Curtis.

Filming begins on April 21.
