Notorious bad girl (recently gone good!) Nicole Richie hasn’t exactly led the simple life. She’s the daughter of superstar singer Lionel Richie and her godfather is Michael Jackson, which makes for pretty much anything but an ordinary upbringing.
Frequently in the news for all sorts of bad behavior, the young celebutante isn’t without acting talent. She and ex-pal Paris Hilton starred in five seasons of a sometimes-considered-a-hit show “The Simple Life,” in which they had to exist without access to all of the trappings of their overblown lives, including credit cards, cell phones and fancy wardrobes. Oddly, the show really worked and fans found the duo endlessly fascinating. Nicole gave birth to her first child, daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden, on January 11, 2008; the father is her boyfriend Joel Madden of the band “Good Charlotte.”
