LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Nicole Richie is heading back to television.

The heiress-turned-reality star-turned-mom told E! News that a TV program based on her book, “The Truth About Diamonds,” is being made.

The book, which was released in 2005, chronicled a fictional character named Chloe Parker, who like Richie, is the daughter of a pop star.

As the book continues, Chloe finds herself falling in with a crowd of fellow children of celebrities who are leading a fast life.

And it appears Richie may do more than just take a role supervising the upcoming program.

“I would definitely produce and definitely be in the show,” she told E! News. “I don’t know if I need to be the star of this show.”

“I’ve got a log going on right now,” Richie added.

Richie, who gave birth to her first child in January, said she has been busy with other pursuits of late too. She’s working on a second book, though declined to reveal plot details.

“I’m not telling you,” Richie said. “It’s not finished.”
