Nicole Richie just confirmed to Diane Sawyer that she is four months pregnant in a series of interviews set to air this week. Now, OK! magazine has revealed details from their own interview and cover story with the jail-bound celebutante.
A day after pleading guilty to a Driving Under the Influence of Drugs charge in Southern California, where she was sentenced to four days in jail, fined and put on probation, Nicole Richie sat down with OK! magazine. Among the things they discussed? Her upcoming jail sentence and the advice Paris gave her, details on Richies first pregnancy and her advice for Britney and Lindsay.
This year has been full of lessons learned and soul-searching and realizing Im an adult, Nicole told OK!. Im an adult. Its time to take responsibility and not take the easy way out.
Richie was arrested last year after cops found her parked in the carpool lane of the 134 freeway, not far from Access Hollywoods offices. Other drivers called 911 on the night she was arrested, reporting a car matching Nicoles vehicle description heading the wrong way on the freeway.
When Richie was found, her vehicle was facing the right direction, but she told cops she was on Vicodin when they began speaking to her. Richie finally addressed why she was taking the heavy painkiller with OK!
I have really bad menstrual cramps, she said.
The daughter of singing superstar Lionel Richie said she believes the sentence she was given for the incident, which occurred while she was on probation, was fair.
It was a fair, standard sentence, she said. I expected that.
Paris Hilton, who Nicole reconciled with late last year after a period of estrangement, has been encouraging to the petite, former Simple Life star about her impending time in lockdown.
Shes been really supportive, Richie admitted. I dont know if there is anything to do or prepare.
When asked if she had advice for other troubled stars including Lohan and Britney, Nicole pointed out what driving under the influence really meant to her.
Every situation is different, Nicole told OK!. I have come to a place where I never want to make a mistake like that again. I never want to possibly take another life in my hands.
