LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Leona Lewis has not been approached to record the theme song to the next James Bond movie, according to a rep for the chart-topping singer.

On Thursday, Britain’s The Sun, reported Leona was being sought after by Bond producers, who felt Amy Winehouse wasn’t up to the task.

A source told the paper, Leona “is seen as one of the few candidates who has the right profile both sides of the pond to do it.”

“Amy was their original choice,” the source continued. “The Bond guys now look set on Leona. She is reliable and has a great voice for it.”

On Friday, reps for Leona told Access Hollywood, there is no truth to the rumor the “Bleeding Love” singer will tackle a Bond theme.
