LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
A brief hearing related to the conservatorship of Britney Spears was held in downtown Los Angeles Superior Court earlier today, with no changes being made to the current rulings.
The hearing was originally expected to include a progress update on the attempted serving of a temporary restraining order against Sam Lutfi, Britney’s self-proclaimed manager.
Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, and his co-conservator Andrew Wallett, had requested a temporary order on behalf of Britney and the Spears family, and though Commissioner Reva Goetz granted it, those serving Lutfi the paperwork had trouble handing it off.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Lutfi was finally served with notice of the temporary restraining order on Thursday.
At Friday’s hearing, Jamie Spears’ lawyers brought Commissioner Goetz up to date on the latest occurrences in the conservatorship case.
Goetz however, cannot make changes to the conservatorship presently as Jon Eardley (an attorney who claims to represent Britney) filed papers asking the case be heard in Federal court, earlier this month.
Eardley claims Britney’s civil rights are being violated by the conservatorship.
“I know I can’t do much today,” Commissioner Reva Goetz told the court on Friday. “We are in a holding pattern.”
A federal judge will decide sometime next week if the case should be moved to the federal level.
