LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Caption Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva arrive at the screening 20th Century Fox’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ at the Chinese Theater on April 28, 2009 in Los AngelesFor the first time since the Mel Gibson meltdown scandal began, Oksana Grigorieva has given her first interview, one in which she claims to have never attempted to extort Mel Gibson.
“I think that Mel is basically trivializing domestic violence and this is very, very sad,” Grigorieva told Radar Online.
Grigorieva went on to claim that all of the recordings of her and Gibson were made in one night. The Russian singer said their daughter, Lucia, is surviving the situation.
“She’s good, good considering all the facts, and of course, you know, what is unfair that by standing up to somebody and speaking up, I’m being victimized all over again. I feel like he’s, with his campaign, he’s hired so many people I feel like I’m being victimized all over again,” Grigorieva told Radar.
She went on to deny that she ever tried to extort money from the actor.
“I have never extorted anything from him, there is no proof of any kind, it’s all false information that he’s feeding the press,” Grigorieva claimed.
She then urged Gibson to “speak the truth, tell the truth for the sake of your daughter,” adding, “I’m just looking out for the interest of my daughter.”
According to Radar, Gibson may have incriminated himself. Radar claims that Gibson wrote Grigorieva an e-mail the morning after their alleged fight on January 7, saying, “How’s your tooth?” and “Could you please call me? I want to tell you how unspeakably sorry I am.”
Radar also claims Gibson pled the fifth when interviewed about domestic violence by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, citing his right not to incriminate himself.
A rep from the Sheriff’s Department was not immediately available for comment on Friday when contacted by Access Hollywood. A rep for Gibson was also not available for comment.
