LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

For anyone still shopping for baby gift for mom-to-be Olympian Kerri Walsh, blue is the way to go.

Kerri, who is expecting her first child this summer with husband and fellow volleyball pro Casey Jennings, is having a boy, she revealed to People.

“I am beyond excited,” the Olympic hero said. “It’s more beautiful and more special than I ever thought possible.”

And, the couple has already picked out a name – Joseph Michael Jennings.

In December, Kerri broke the baby news to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush.

“I’m chubby and I’m pregnant and it’s awesome!” Kerri told Billy at the time, adding she was “about 16-and-a-half weeks” along.

Although the couple waited to find out the sex of the child, Kerri predicted they would be welcoming a son.

“We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl, and we aren’t trying to find out,” Kerri told Billy. “We have a feeling it’s a boy, but we’re going to find out the traditional way.”

Kerri revealed the couple had previously tried to get pregnant nearly a year prior to the 2008 Summer Olympics, however, she suffered a miscarriage.

But as it turns out, little Joseph was the result of a celebration in Beijing after Kerri and partner Misty May-Treanor won the gold medal.

“We had been wanting to have kids for a long time and tried to get pregnant before Beijing but had a miscarriage,” she told People. “It was sad, but the way it happened I had to wait at least a year before trying again. Then we got pregnant literally first try, day one in Beijing after we finished. Beijing baby. It was an inspired conception!”

In fact, the couple hinted at their plans for a family immediately after the gold medal match.

“So is this now the time?” Access’ Shaun Robinson asked the couple in Beijing, hinting at expanding their family.

“I’m in!” Kerri beamed.

“Yea, that would be a third gold medal, wouldn’t it?” Casey smiled.

And if all goes well, Joseph will have brothers and sisters to play with down the road.

“We want at least three kids. I want my boys and a girl, I want it all!” Kerri told People.
