Caption Misty May-Treanor signs autographs for fansLOS ANGELES, Calif. -- She is certainly a wizard on the volleyball court, but now Olympian Misty May-Treanor will play one on TV as well – or at least visit some.
Fresh off her gold medal beach volleyball win in Beijing, Misty will make a guest appearance on the Disney Channel’s hit tween show “Wizards of Waverly Place,” the Olympian and the cable channel confirmed to Access Hollywood.
“I’m very excited to be in an upcoming episode of Disney’s ‘Wizards of Waverly Place.’ Since my return from Beijing (the Olympics) I’ve had opportunities to be involved with fun projects outside of beach volleyball,” Misty said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “I can’t wait to meet the cast and be part of such a creative show.”
Her “Wizards” cameo (in which she will play herself) is just one of many upcoming TV appearances for Misty.
On Wednesday, she joined her fellow Olympians for a visit to the set of Oprah. In addition, the volleyball queen has been announced as one of the new cast members for the upcoming season of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
Misty, who is married to pro baseball player Matt Treanor of the Florida Marlins, will juggle all of her Hollywood commitments, while competing with partner Kerri Walsh on the 2008 AVP Crocs Pro Beach Volleyball tour.
