LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

There’s a reason Santogold is one of the coolest new artists around.

Her music is like dumping your cool, older brothers record collection on the floor and making a mixtape out of what fell out – some new-wave, reggae, electro, punk, ska and pop!

Santi’s first single “L.E.S. Artistes” sounds kind of like New York rockers The Strokes if they were fronted by Annie Lennox: fuzzy guitars and polished vocals all the way.

There’s quite a few good ones from the record we’ve been spinning including “You’ll Find A Way,” which is like a sonic beat down of pulsing ska bass and jagged guitars.

“Shove It” taunts and teases listeners with dubbed-out reggae and ghostly backing vocals atop a dance-hall ready beat.

She’s already being championed as “the future of pop” by Rolling stone magazine, counts Mark Ronson and Bjork as fans, and has been hired to pen tracks for Lily Allen and Ashlee Simpson.

Santi’s song “Creator” is featured in a new ad for Bud Light on TV, and Converse has just commissioned her to do a spot with Julian Casablancas (of The Strokes) and Pharrell. Don’t be the last one on your block to get hip to Santogold — Download this album ASAP… you may even beat your aforementioned cool older brother to the punch.
