Oscars Preview: Wolfgang Puck's Governors Ball Taste Test

For 20 years, master chef Wolfgang Puck has served thousands of celebrities during Oscar night’s biggest gala, The Governors Ball. Wolfgang returns to Access Hollywood Live to preview items from this year’s menu. Did the nominees have any special requests?

It's just all in the kitchen. Welcome back. We are on the air right now. Wolfgang puck. His restaurant is synonymous with the oscars. 20 years now its colorful dishes have served thousands of famous people on oscars biggest night, the governors ball. Excited like that. I started when I was 12, I think. But I think it's always exciting. The oscars are always the biggest holiday really in Hollywood and Los Angeles. It's buzzing. Everybody comes to town. It's really an amazing place. And then they to their big dinner afterwards where everyone is really hungry. It's a good thing. They've been starving themselves for weeks and months. I know. Everybody tries to fit in. And then a lot of people like comfort foods, too. You've been starving yourself. And so we make from our mini burgers that we are cooking to one of the favorites. Everybody loves our chicken pot pie. And that's the thing you can do at home really easy, too, because all you need -- you can get some mushroom soup or something like that. Bring it to a boil and then get some vegetables. You can cut some carrots, some peas, turnip and gather together vegetables, even mushrooms. Add to that. This is Barbra streisand's favorite. Loves chicken pot pie. One person from the board of governors said, I don't care what you give at the oscars, just make me the chicken pot pie and I'm happy. You can see we have a beautiful thing here and then I drop the chicken at the end. If you do that at home. It's a perfect way to cook because you can do it in advance. You can do it a day ahead. Put in the refrigerator and just bake it at the last moment. And then what do you serve it on? A pastry puff? So what we do then we take it out, put it in any kind of a pot. You have something nice you can put out and make a prepared table. You put it in here. A pyrex dish, whatever it is. Fill it up. And get some dough from your store or you can make it yourself, too. And we put that right on top. Yum. Wolfgang -- Do I need to flip the burger? Yeah. Is this my little thing? That's fine. What do you use this for in the kitchen? This is amazing. This is for your chef. What we do, we have the smoke coming up. Very good. Look out. I'm not just another pretty face. Wolfgang, I have skills. This cookie cutter here we make our oscars here. We put a slice of salmon and put it together like that. How many of you -- Look at the little Oscar. We make 3,500 of this smoked salmon and we make so many of our chocolates, also. Everyone gets one to take home. We make like 5,000 and people take them for their kids. We make big ones, too. This one I made out of chocolate. And this year is our 20th anniversary. So we made ourselves a birthday cake. Can everybody at home tell that is spinning in the middle? Look how cool that is. Oh, you see Oscar on the other side and he's moving. It's a little show. A little Hollywood thing, yeah. What's your favorite of everything you're doing? You know what, I love that and I like the chicken pot pie. But one of my favorites is the potato with caviar. A little champagne. If you win an Oscar, how much better can you celebrate? You've done it again, Wolfgang. You have. Amazing. Wolfgang's recipes are up on our website accesshollywoodlive.com. And Oscar Sunday starts live at 7:00 eastern on ABC. Straight ahead, Anne V. Joins
