LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Almost a year after the release of her self-titled debut album, Paris Hilton is planning on returning to a recording studio to lay down the follow-up.

The former jailbird has been spotted recently, replacing her religious reading material in her arms with books on singing. Reports have also surfaced that the heiress has been working with Scott Storch, a previous producer of Christina Aguilera and Beyonce.

“I’m already working on my new record,” Hilton told E! Online recently. “I’ve been in meetings with Scott [Storch] and we’ve been working on it.”

Hilton’s first major recording release was the single “Stars Are Blind” from the August 2006 album “Paris.” The single made some headway thanks to a video that was reminiscent of Chris Isaak’s classic “Wicked Game,” which was full of black and white filmed beach frolicking scenes.

A dance remix of “Stars . . .” was mildy successful, reaching number 18 on the Billboard chart. Her second single “Nothing In This World,” charted at 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Chart.

Despite reports that Hilton had been dropped by her label, Warner Brothers confirmed to Access Hollywood last month that the socialite is still on their books.
