LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Fans hoping to see a cowboy buddy movie with Tom Cruise and John Travolta will have to keep on waiting.

A report from Britain’s Daily Express on Sunday claimed Tom Cruise and John Travolta are slated to remake the classic 1969 Western “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” which starred Paul Newman and Robert Redford in the title roles.

Not true, a rep for 20th Century Fox told Access Hollywood.

“This is false,” the rep said of the report.

A rep for Tom Cruise also denied the report to Access.

Travolta will next be seen in the action thriller, “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3,” while Cruise’s next screen project has yet to be determined.
