SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Julia Roberts and her new pink hair arrive at the reading of ‘The World Of Nick Adams’ to honor Paul Newman held at Davies Symphony Caption Julia Roberts and her new pink hair arrive at the reading of ‘The World Of Nick Adams’ to honor Paul Newman held at Davies Symphony As Julia Roberts took to the stage Monday night at San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall to honor and raise funds for the late Paul Newman’s charity, The Painted Turtle, a camp for children with life threatening illnesses, the actress showed up on the red carpet honoring the request of one of her own children — a pink request.

Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell couldn’t help but notice Julia Roberts’ new choice in hair color.

“You know, I hope you don’t mind but I’m gonna grab the back of your hair,” Nancy told Julia when she saw Julia’s new pink locks. “I notice you have like a little pink.”

“Oh the pink!” Julia said with a laugh.

“Yeah, you have a little pink in your hair!” Nancy told Julia.

The mother-of-three proceeded to explain her new hair color to Nancy.

“Well Hazel said, ‘Mommy, I wish you had pink hair,’ and I said, ‘Well, I don’t know if all of it would look nice,’ so I just did a little patch.”

In addition to Julia’s bold new color, both Julia and Nancy couldn’t help but notice their impressive post-baby figures.

“Tall and skinny! Didn’t you just have a baby?” Julia asked Nancy.

“Didn’t you just have a baby?” Nancy responded.

“No, 16 months ago, I had mine,” Julia said of her third child, Henry.

And how is the new addition to the family?

“He’s perfect, he was here for rehearsal today and had so much fun,” Julia told Nancy. “He’s gorgeous, not that I want anyone taking his picture, but he’s gorgeous.”

“I bet he is a doll,” Nancy told Julia. “Isn’t [motherhood] the best thing ever?”

“It is,” Julia said with a smile.
