Pauly D is enjoying fatherhood and he shared with Access Hollywood details of his first meeting with 5-month-old daughter Amabella.

“It’s crazy. It’s different. It was a shocker, but it’s amazing,” he told Access Hollywood at Thursday’s F*ck Cancer event in New York City, where he DJed for the cause. “When I met her, she was precious, [a] precious little girl. She looks just like me. And it changes my life. I put her before me now. Now, when I’m shopping, I’m looking for like sneakers for her now instead of for me. So she’s gonna be a fresh little girl.”

The MTV star, whose real name is Paul DelVecchio, said he had a surprising experience when he met his daughter by Amanda Markert, 26.

“When I first saw her, her eyes lit up,” Pauly said of his baby girl. “It was almost like she knew. It was crazy. She went right for my hair. She grabbed my hair. She was biting my nose. It was amazing.”

The DJ said he wasn’t sure he would know how to handle the little one, but he quickly figured things out.

“I didn’t know if I was gonna understand what to do, but I just do,” he said. “Something clicks and when I [saw] her, I’m like, ‘Awww.’ Now I’m always wondering what she’s doing.”

Pauly said he and the mother of his daughter are working through their lawyers to work out what’s next.

“It’s a little rocky. It’s not the ideal situation. This wasn’t planned, but you know what? I’m gonna try the best I can do to give the baby the best life I can,” he said.

“We’re trying to work that out now,” he said of a visitation arrangement. “That’s all in the lawyers’ hands and everything so I just want to see the baby as much as I can and that’s what I’m fighting for.”
