LOS ANGELES, Calif. (December 19, 2007) – The People’s Choice Awards as you’ve come to know them are changing.

The ceremony will launch a new, magazine-style format when the show goes out on January 8, organizers said in a statement released earlier today.

Queen Latifah will host the event.

Fans will be able to take a greater role in the making of the show. On December 21, fans can log on to www.pcavote.com. There they can submit questions they’d like their favorite stars to answer.

“We’re excited to pilot a new format for the People’s Choice Awards this year,” Fred Nelson, President of the People’s Choice Awards said in a statement. “For 34 years, the People’s Choice Awards has been the show that lets the voice of the fans be heard. With the reinvention of People’s Choice, we’re allowing entertainment enthusiasts to have even more influence on the show. In addition, the new approach will give fans a more personal glimpse into the lives of their favorite actors and musicians.”
