Piers Morgan Surprised By Christine O’Donnell’s Interview Exit

The “Piers Morgan Tonight” host called into Access Hollywood Live on Thursday morning to dish on the politician-turned-author’s exit after Piers attempted to ask her about her stance on gay marriage – something she refused to answer.
“If you watch back the whole interview, she was claiming that I was very rude to her, and I honestly… I can be rude, but I certainly wasn’t last night,” Piers told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday morning.
“I think that it was a bizarre situation where I was asking her, what I thought was a perfectly valid question, which I would ask anyone in the Tea Party right now – given Michelle Bachmann’s pretty controversial comments on the issue of gay marriage – and I thought that she would just give me a kind of standard answer, particularly given that she was publishing a book… where she is talking about her views on everything,” the British TV personality continued.
“And then when she walked out, I was really just surprised. I couldn’t understand why she was doing that… I think she is just genuinely sick and tired of having to answer questions about things she has said in the past,” he told Billy and Kit.
Adding, “You have to be accountable to stuff you are on the record saying, because you are influencing how people vote about what you say [and] about big issues of the day… if you don’t’ want to talk about them, you shouldn’t really be giving interviews.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Christine addressed her walkout on Twitter on Wednesday night, writing, “I only agreed to go on the Piers Morgan Show because he promised not to hack my cell phone… Piers, thanks for the invite. Schedule is already packed, maybe another night. No hard feelings, you cheeky bugger.”
