“John Carter” is now officially a flop of galactic proportions.

The Walt Disney Co. said Monday that it expects to book a loss of $200 million on the movie in the quarter through March.

Steve Jobs’ $4.6 Billion In Disney Shares Revert To Trust Managed By Wife

Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs’ $4.6 billion worth of shares in The Walt Disney Co. are now in a trust run by his wife, Laurene Powell Jobs.

That’s according to a securities filing made Wednesday.

Box Office Preview: ‘Transformers: Dark Of The Moon’ Already On The Move To No. 1

Paramount’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” is already transforming itself into the biggest debut of the year, grossing $42.8 million so far as it smashes its way toward $175 million in North America by the end of the long holiday weekend.

With the first two films in Michael Bay’s critically-challenged sci-fi franchise earning a combined $1.5 billion worldwide, and with the added benefit of 3-D, IMAX and some ticket inflation, “T3” could easily make $500 million globally in its first week of release.

Pixar Animation remains undefeated at the box-office races.

The Disney unit’s animated sequel “Cars 2” cruised to a No. 1 finish with a $68 million opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday. That makes 12 wins in a row for Pixar since 1995’s “Toy Story.”

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

Up to this point, trying to pick my least favorite Pixar movie had been a lot like trying to pick my least favorite Beatles album. Oh sure, they’re all great, but there’s at least one that just isn’t quite as great as all the others. (And, in my humble opinion, that album is “Magical Mystery Tour.”)

So until recently, my least favorite Pixar movie had been “Cars.” But, has “Cars 2” become Pixar’s first official clunker?
