LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

A police report has been filed against brawny “300” star Gerard Butler over an alleged scuffle with a paparazzi photographer on Tuesday morning, Access Hollywood has learned.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Access Hollywood that a report was filed Tuesday in Hollywood, by an individual claiming misdemeanor battery.

So far a detective has not been assigned to the case. When this occurs, the detective will begin contacting both parties to take their statements about the incident to determine whether a prosecutable crime actually occurred.

The photographer had reportedly been following Gerard by car after the star left an LA bar. Allegedly, Gerard punched him several times, bloodying the photographer’s lip.
