Quinton Aaron's Weight Loss Quest
Quinton Aaron portrayed real life football player Michael Oher alongside Sandra Bullock in the critically acclaimed box office smash, “The Blind Side.” Now, Quinton chats with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live about his projects after “The Blind Side.” How much did that film help him start the Quinton Aaron Foundation? And, why was being booted from a plane due to his size a wake-up call? Quinton’s next movie, “Left Behind,” with Nicolas Cage, comes out this fall.
Is this mine. Yes, sir. Never had one before. Whether a room to yourself? A bed. I think I cried right there. Real life football player Michael along with Sandra bullock in the critical and box office smash the blind side. Sandra won the Oscar for her performance. That was a game changer wasn't it. It was. It was. Definitely. What you have been up to since. A lot of things. A lot of TV. Actually got to work on one of my favorite show that is no longer on, one tree hill. I wouldn't take you for a one tree hill maichbility I like a lot of different things and I have seen every single episode. Met bush at a party and went bananas. At the party you walked off and said what I picked her up and hugged her. I love 1 tree hilly love blind side. Her boyfriend was like. Put her town. Sorry. Sorry. But it was cool. I got to work on the show for a couple episodes. Meet everybody. It was awesome. Did blind side give you the opportunity to start the Quinn ton foundation. It did. It did. Basically realizing the Mr. Form it gave me and how many kids looked up to you know Michael's story and were inspired by it and I started doing speaking engagement at schools. First to like up lift them and encourage them to follow their dreams and what I was noticing is a lieutenant of the kids in the schools were having issues with bullying and a lot of the -- had a look or something about them or over weight and when I went to Florida I went to Tampa like two years ago. Met this guy who asked me if I ever thought about starting my own foundation. I was like I haven't. He said so it's not hard. I can help you get it started but if you were to start one, what would you want it to be about? And bullying was the first thing that popped in my head. Were you ever bullied. I was. I was bullied a lot in school. Elementary, on up to high school. For what when I was in elementary school I was skinnyelementary school I was skinny, big forehead big glasses, and I got beat up by a girl one time. You did. In the third grade. I did. She was in the fifth grade. Okay. At least she was in the fifth grade. She was older. And bigger. And I think she didn't like the fact that I didn't want to good out with her. That's what would I tell myself too. That's right. She wanted me. She didn't handle rejection well. Well played. So tell me what happened. You were on this airplane and they kicked you off the plane or asked you to leave the plane. Yes. That was a Yes. That was a funny story. It's funny now I can look back and laugh at it. Basically when I fly I get booked so I didn't take my ownbooked so I didn't take my own, you know flight and everything but a requirement of mine is that I fly first class. And they booked it like that the first plane I was on it was first class. Second plane had the same seat number as the first one did so I assumed I was first class but it was a smaller plane with no first class so I didn't know until I got on the plane what it would look like with the seating arrangement looked like so as soon as I saw it I was like okay. If somebody had to sit next to me this ain't going to work out. But one of the flight attendant was like let's wing it. Let's see. Just sit down and see what we can do. Sat down. Last person on the plane I have to sit right here. I'm like it's not going to work. But okay. Let's see what is going to happen. The person that was at the front counter comes in and leans over to me and says excuse me can you collect your belongings and follow me off the plane? And I was like. How did it make you feel? I just got up and did it. You know. We Beth we couldn't sit next to each other. Mind you the guy that had to sit next to me wasn't small himself so it wasn't going to work out. 2 big guys won't make it there. No. Health wise, are you in the process of going through -- I am. Weight loss program or what. Couple of, a couple different offers. In other words, that I can speak about yet because hasn't been finalize but I figure the best way to do it is to have a team behind you encouraging you. Because me personally the only reason I have a weight issue is because of my lack of consistent if you tell know do it myself I probably won't do it. I wouldn't have a weight issue. But. How did it happen? Is it emotional? Not really. I don't know. I think with everything I have going on and everything I'm doing the last thing on my mind is getting up and going to the gym. You have to make the time that's what it is. Yes. I get up. Start my day and go to meetings. Going for a drive or going to hang out with people this that or the other and it's not a priority. I'll get it when I can or, you know, Do you want to lose wait a minute I do. I do. And which is why I'm setting up the business. Business or longevity in life. Both. For both. I do want to be in action. In action film. Wouldn't that be amazing. Wear a white tank top and be on the beach over here on the tank top. I said, well I was kind of thinking that would be cool one day to just be on the beach with a tank top on and not care about the way I look in that tank top. And be on the beach. It could happen. Make it happen. You got this. Nice to meet you. You are good in the movie. Next movie left behind. Comes out this fall.
