The actor, who was not arrested for bringing the knife into the airport, explained why he had the banned item with him while traveling.
“If I ever get outta this there will be a reckoning. It was a misTAKE, all right? I’m a whittler, plain and simple,” he wrote.
“The Office’s” Rainn Wilson suggested that something should be done about Garret’s mistake.
“Arrest this tweeter!” Rainn joked on Twitter, after reading Garret’s posts.
Monday’s snafu might, however, have repercussions for the actor next time he tries to fly the friendly skies.
“I’m not psychic…but I foresee a lifetime of hassles by the TSA,” he wrote in another Tweet. “A sacrifice I am willing to make to ensure the safety of our skies.”
