overview
Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon is certainly no stranger to the spotlight. She had her first gig at age seven when she appeared in a television commercial for a Nashville florist. She started acting in earnest during high school and had multiple projects under her belt before graduating in 1994. She did manage to get in a year at Stanford University before the siren call of the cinema lured her back with its tempting song.
After a few more early buzz films like “Election” and “Cruel Intentions,” she broke in to the big time with her lovably blonde role as not-as-shallow-as-she-seems Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde.” It was such a huge success that she was certified as one of the most sought-after young actresses in Hollywood.
But it was her dramatic role as “June Carter Cash” in the Johnny Cash biopic “Walk The Line” which really wowed the critics and made her an Oscar winner for Best Actress.
