LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
After it was announced Britney Spears would have a guest spot on the CBS sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother," reports surfaced suggesting actress Alicia Silverstone pulled out of appearing on the same episode because of the pop star.
However, Access Hollywood has learned reports of Alicia cancelling due to Britney's appearance are false.
"There was never a deal for her to do 'How I Met Your Mother'," a rep for Alicia told Access. "There was a discussion…Never a formal offer. These reports are false."
Earlier this week, a rep for the show told Access that the episode featuring Britney is scheduled to air on March 24.
Britney will play a receptionist in a doctor’s office.
It is not known when Britney will tape the episode.
