Rep: Artie Lange Hospitalized

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Artie Lange in January 2009Artie Lange has been hospitalized, a rep for the star confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“We can confirm that Artie is in the hospital,” the rep said in a statement. “Artie has chosen to keep all information on this matter between him and his doctor. There will be no further comment.”

“The Howard Stern Show” regular has been absent from the radio show in recent weeks, having left on an indefinite hiatus earlier in December.

The comedian has a history of drug use, including heroin and cocaine.
