LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

A new ABC promotional video hints that Dominic Monaghan’s deceased character Charlie from “Lost” has returned to the land of the living — but according to Entertainment Weekly, the star is instead joining a different ABC show.

In the clip, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey tells Dominic, “You’re so dead,” to which the star responds, “Actually, I was” — hinting that he could be making a “Lost” return.

Charlie died in a past season of “Lost,” but has mysteriously made several appearances since on the show, which has appeared to similarly resurrect a number of characters.

However, Entertainment Weekly reported that Dominic appears in the spot alongside Dempsey, Courteney Cox (“Cougar Town”) and Ed O’Neill (“Modern Family”) because he’s headed for another ABC hour-long drama.

The show he’s joining is reportedly “a big surprise.”

“Lost” returns for its sixth and final season in February 2010.
