E! named supermodel Karolina Kurkova the world’s sexiest woman in November, but for some critics, the 24-year-old’s figure is too full.
According to FOX News’ Pop Tarts column, a thyroid disorder is the reason behind what some have dubbed Karolina’s weight problems. A source told the site that the model has hypothyroidism, a condition that affects the metabolism.
In June, Karolina was criticized for her “cellulite and love handles” at San Paulo Fashion Week, and called “too fat” after Victoria’s Secret’s fashion show in November.
According to FOX, the model has said that her diet consists mainly of vegetables, salad and protein – and in the weeks before the latest Victoria’s show, she reportedly cut carbs entirely and kept a strict gym regimen, but didn’t lose the weight she wanted to.
“She was exhausted and didn’t get down to where she wanted to be,” a source told the site.
Karolina was reportedly almost a no-show at the event, with the decision to have her take the catwalk at the last minute.
But despite her detractors, the leggy Czech remains very much in demand – according to Forbes, she’s the eighth highest-paid model in the world.
