According to Deadline, the former “Cheers” actress is in final negotiations with ABC to star in a new comedy pilot tentatively titled, “The Manzanis.”
Kirstie, 60, is set to star as the show’s “very opinionated wife/mother” who, along with her family, relocates to a “repressed country-club town,” according to the website.
Veteran TV writers Marco Pennette (“Caroline in the City,” “Samantha Who?”) and Dave Flebotte (“Desperate Housewives”) are writing the multi-camera comedy, which is being hailed as “a new take on ‘Roseanne,’” according to Deadline.
A rep for Kirstie was not immediately available for comment on the reported pilot when contacted by Access Hollywood on Thursday.
Kirstie experienced a renewal in her popularity among television audiences earlier this year when she finished second on Season 12 of “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC alongside professional ballroom dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
