LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

La Toya Jackson was among the family members who gathered at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Monday night for a private viewing of the late Michael Jackson, according to KCAL 9 News in Los Angeles.

Just before sundown, Jackson family members including La Toya, were spotted arriving on the grounds where Michael, who died June 25 at the age of 50, is expected to be buried on Tuesday morning.

Five news choppers hovered over the Forest Lawn hills for two hours, circling over the site Michael is set to be buried as day turned to night, an Access Hollywood reporter on the scene witnessed.

Outside of the grounds, hundreds of fans gathered on the west side of the Memorial Park’s entrance while dozens of journalist packed the east side.

Forest Lawn was shut down to traffic on Monday afternoon. Just a few cars were spotted entering and exiting the property.

A steady stream of cars made a mass exit from the cemetery grounds around 9:15 PM on Monday evening. La Toya reportedly left a short while before.

Not long after, chopper footage on KCAL showed a hearse believed to contain the body of Michael Jackson, pulling up to a building near Forest Lawn’s Independence Hall.

On Tuesday morning, thousands of Michael Jackson fans will gather at the Staples center in downtown Los Angeles for a memorial to the late King of Pop.

Mariah Carey, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and Lionel Richie are among the stars set to participate in the event.
