LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
With teen vampire drama “Twilight” already pulling in millions at the box office in its first day of release, actor Robert Pattinson is on the verge of superstardom – but he told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in an interview for “The Billy Bush Show” that he used to try out for every role he could.
“I think I’ve been to every single audition that’s ever been available up until recently,” he told Billy. “Up until I did [‘Twilight’], pretty much.”
Among them was a casting call where actors had to dress up for a gender-bending part.
“I auditioned for a role where I had to sign up for the casting in drag, like to play a transsexual,” he said.
And the British actor, whose vampiric good looks have caused mob scenes with “Twilight” fans at recent press appearances, didn’t get the part, but he said he could’ve been right for “Baywatch.”
“I thought I looked pretty good!” he laughed. “I didn’t want to shave my legs so I wore those skintight jeans – I kind of looked like Gena Lee Nolin.”
