No Doubt

After a lengthy hiatus, Gwen Stefani is reuniting with No Doubt for a comeback.

The band released their first picture together in years on their Web site on Friday and posted an instant messenger chat that found them discussed hitting the studio and going back on the road.

“We need to play. It’s been too long… I feel like it’s time for some rock and roll,” bassist Tony Kanal wrote.

Twenty five years after I first saw The B-52s’ “Legal Tender” video on MTV, I finally caught the band live in concert. My first reaction when the band came out with their latest album, “Funplex,” in the spring of 2008 was that, “They really shouldn’t still be making music this good.”

Unlike Madonna, The B-52s have stayed small and true to their roots and their original identity.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

Yesterday I headed down to the uber-hip Echo Park neighborhood here in Los Angeles to hang out on the set of a new TheWB.com series called “Rockville, CA.” It’s a web only series created and executive produced by Josh Schwartz, the man behind “Gossip Girl,” “Chuck,” and the late “OC.” The show is a drama that centers on a group of LA hipsters who work at the fictional Rockville club and will feature performances from some very cool indie bands. It’s not set to air until March though, so I’ll tell you more about that project in a few months.

In the mean time, I grilled Josh for some scoop on our favorite guilty “Gossip” pleasure. Let’s just say this is a man who is a good at keeping secrets, but I was able to squeak a few things out of him.
