Rod Stewart Marries Model In Rome
ROME (June 16, 2007) — British rocker Rod Stewart married model Penny Lancaster in a private ceremony Saturday on the Italian Riviera, gathering with a few friends and family in a 17-century villa, Access Hollywood has learned.
A rep for Stewart released the following statement to Access Hollywood:
Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart married at sunset on Saturday, June 16 in a cloistered medieval abbey at La Cervara near Portofino, Italy. The couple exchanged vows in the presence of 100 family and friends. A reception followed overlooking the exquisite coast of Santa Margherita. Dinner, dancing, and fireworks lasted until the early hours as the newlyweds, who succeeded in keeping their special day private, went off on a Mediterranean holiday.
The couple have a son together. It was the third wedding for the 62-year-old rocker, best known for hits like “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?”
