Britney Is No Slacker: In news you don’t hear very often, someone is singing the praises of our favorite pop star, Britney Spears. Wayne Isham, who directed Brit’s “Piece of Me” video told People, “She was very professional, excited to work and beautiful as always. I was impressed with her focus as she choreographed the dance herself. Her endurance was remarkable, as we had a long day.” We’re guessing Chris Crocker (champion and defender of Brit on YouTube) is feeling very satisfied right now.

No So Fast Tom: Better get out your movie-going calendars, there’s been a date change for Tom Cruise’s Nazi epic, “Valkyrie.” Tom’s pic was supposed to drop in the coveted summer months, over the July 4th holiday, but has now been pushed back to October 3, 2008. Why would Tom push back his epic from summer to fall? According to Variety, the delay is related to production issues. When a film is pushed from the biggest movie-going weekend of the year to the fall, it’s usually not a good sign – unless they’re hoping for fall Oscar consideration.

The Nose Job That Stops Concerts: Fans in Miami and Philadelphia are not getting any live Ashley Tisdale for Christmas, as she has canceled two performances due to her nose job. She writes on her official Web site, “we didn’t think it would be necessary to cancel the shows because my doctor thought I would heal in time. Unfortunately, the deviated septum was more significant than we originally thought so the healing process is taking longer.” Keep your chin up Tisdale fans, she’ll return… hopefully still resembling the Sharpay we know and love!

Kristin & Lauren To Reunite?: Could “The Hills” be getting another resident? It appears the producers are considering the possibility of bringing Kristen Cavallari of “Laguna Beach” “fame” to the MTV hit reality show, according to a report on E! Online. But remember, Kristen is focusing on her acting career, so a return to the semi-scripted reality show might not happen, but if she returns… heck, we’ll be there! Go Team Kristin!

Awards Show Breakdown: In what could be a sign of the dark and wordless times ahead, the WGA has turned down a waiver for the Golden Globes and Oscars, meaning they will not allow any WGA writer to write for either awards show, according to a report in Variety. Cue the crickets! This could mean a very short awards show with very little awkward podium banter between celebs… in other words-- perhaps the best awards season ever!
