Jessica Simpson’s Country Nerves: Jessica Simpson has made the switch from pop to country with her new album, “Do You Know,” but she’s still shaking in her boots. “I’m a little nervous,” Jessica told a crowd of country music record industry types at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center Thursday night before treating the crowd to her new down home music stylings, People reported. “If I throw up, I’m sorry.” After Jessica finished her set, she exclaimed, “I didn’t throw up!” Luckily, the crowd’s boots went home splatter-free!

Palin — Don’t Upset Nina!: Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin does not have “Project Runway’s” Tim Gunn bestowing style wisdom upon her, because if she did, the Alaska governor might have rethought those trademark specs. “She has promise,” Nina Garcia of ELLE magazine and “Runway” told Us Weekly of Palin’s style. “She just needs to loose those glasses. Get them lasered or something.” Palin has yet to make her stance on ‘hot messes” known to voters.

Katy Perry To Channel Madonna On VMAs: Katy Perry has already said she hopes to smooch a fellow female celeb on stage at the VMAs this Sunday, and it could happen while the singer is performing Madonna’s “Like A Virgin.” Host Russell Brand revealed that Katy would be performing Madge’s iconic song on MTV’s annual awards show, Access Hollywood has learned. “There’s a lot of virginity and lesbianism going on at the show,” Russell told reporters. The Brit comic also went on to dub The Jonas Brothers, “God’s favorite virgins.”

“Ghostbusters” Getting Called Again: It appears there’s something strange in the neighborhood yet again. Columbia Pictures is working on a third installment of “Ghostbusters,” and hopes to reunite the original cast of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, Variety reports. The producers of NBC’s “The Office” have been tapped to write the script. No word if Slimer will return, but we sure hope he does!
