Cruise To Get His Ogre On?: He played an ogre-like Hollywood studio mogul in this summer’s “Tropic Thunder,” and now Tom Cruise could be bringing his comic sensibilities to “Shrek Goes Fourth,” CinemaBlend.com reports. A little birdie at DreamWorks leaked to the movie site that Cruise is reportedly being considered as one option to voice the movie’s villain. The fourth “Shrek” film is due out in 2010.
Channing Tatum Engaged: Suitors looking to step to Channing Tatum need to take a step back, he is engaged to girlfriend and “Step Up” costar Jenna Dewan, according to People. The actor reportedly asked her to marry him in front of family and friends in Maui with a ring by Neil Lane. No word when the couple will wed, but we’re expecting there will be some fancy footwork as they walk down the aisle.
More Spidey Movies: Not wanting to let the Dark Knight steal all the super hero thunder at the box office, Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi are close to inking a deal to make two more “Spiderman” films, according to the Hollywood Reported. No word if Kirsten Dunst will return as Mary Jane Watson or who the villains might be, but the studio hopes to have Spidey back in theaters by May 2011.
Jessica Simpson’s Scantly Clad Grand Ole Opry Debut: Pop star turned country cutie, made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night, People reports. Jessica wore a short black dress with a plunging neckline during her performance of “Come On Over” but not everyone was happy her attire. “I think she should have put some clothes on,” a viewer told the mag. But country legend Loretta Lynn gave Jessica her stamp of approval, telling the new country star backstage, “Just keep doing what you’re doing honey and you’ll be fine!”
