Rosie Perez shares her engagement story with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live. How did her artist husband, Eric Hayes, pop the question? And, she shares details about their wedding? Plus, how did Spike Lee discover her for “Do the Right Thing?”

The cast of "do the right thing." I have to hear the engagement story when you were proposed to. We were thinking about the fight but you seem to think that is not how it went down. No, kind of sort of. We were in vegas and I kept saying I bet you mayweather is going to win. And so what he said was I bet what would be even better is if we got married and that was it. His name is eric, right? Eric haze. He is an artist. You kept forgetting him. I go I am rose. He says we met. You do that to me all the time. One day I was at my friend's birthday party. It was a roast. I looked over there and I said who is that? Again. She goes you do that all the time to him. I say I do? I go please call him over. Before she could he sat down and we have been together ever since. What was different that time? He had to do something to make you remember him. Yes, he did. What did he do? He made fun of me because I killed it on the roast. When I was walking away he goes thanks. You are a hard act to follow. I said who is that? But also when he came over he was confident and kind and gentle. And the difference now is that I am matured and I have myself together. It was great. We became instant friends and instant lovers. You have to be friends. Was the wedding a quick elopement? We went to grand chapel. I thought it was going to be like really tacky and cheesy. It wasn't. It was beautiful. And my girlfriend helped me and they were witnesses. My hair looked so good. I was so happy. You get scared. You go to a vegas beauty salon and never know what is going to happen. You have to have good hair. They turn the chair around and like hello! Married in september. How long were you dating before that? Close to five years. Is it as hot and heavy as ever? Yes. We were talking earlier. We said it is like you want to be able to get it on with your best friend. And he is your best friend. I'm so happy for you. The right time in your life right there. Yes. Is it true that se ee discovered you dancing? He is so irritating. We went to a funky raggae. He is holding a contest to see which black woman -- I jumped on the speaker and tried to make a mockery out of it. I was dancing funny. Like an early twerk? Somebody said that I was the original twerker. I was like no. Let me see what you were doing on the speaker. I will let you know. A little bit. He approached you? With a body guard to get me down. And I was like I'm so sorry. And then he said I want to put you in a movie. I go I'm not an actor. He goes yes you are. The next day I auditioned and the rest is history. It is so great being with you. Thank you for sitting here and sharing stories. Come back with your book. Women please share your stories. She said it best. Up next -- I got the tree, open the door!
