LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Rosie O’Donnell has hit back at a tabloid cover story claiming she “bullies” her pre-teen son.

In a video blog on her Web site Rosie.com, the former “View” moderator was recording a message to her fans when wife, Kelli Carpenter, came in the room.

“Kelli, come say ‘Hi’ to the bloggers. Honey, come say hi! Are you scared of my abusive parenting ways honey?” Rosie asked, referring to a Globe cover story, which this week ran with the headline “Abusive Rosie Bullies Son, 12.”

In their story, the Globe claimed the star manhandled her son Parker. The piece featured six photographs of an apparent argument the star had with her son, including one which shows her with her hand on Parker’s left arm.

“Um, no,” Kelli responded to Rosie’s question. “I would assume that any mother [out] there that has a 12 or 13-year-old boy has grabbed him by the arm.”

Despite the Globe’s interpretation of the conflict displayed in the photograph, Rosie’s other children, Vivienne and Blake, also appear in the shots, seemingly unphased by the argument.

“The story is absolutely ludicrous and ridiculous,” a rep for Rosie told Access Hollywood earlier today. “There is no truth to it whatsoever.”

And Rosie herself said in her blog that Kelli’s comments are “our only comment, because you’re not supposed to comment. But it’s the only thing going through my mind.”
