overview
Controversial comedy characters like the misogynistic, anti-Semitic, Pamela Anderson-obsessed “Borat,” and “Bruno,” the gay Austrian fashion personality… have made Sacha Baron Cohen practically a household name in the first decade of the 21st-Century. The British-born comic, who actually studied history, rarely makes public appearances as himself, preferring to stay in character during interviews and public events.
His first famous character, “Ali G,” is a fake news interviewer who has been turned loose on some of the most unsuspecting names in the world, including Donald Trump, Ralph Nader, Pat Buchanan and Boutros Boutros-Ghali. The joke is always the same - they don’t know he’s a comic, but the results are unpredictably hilarious.
